Because of our planet’s finite resources, tapping into outer space’s reserves is key to building a sustainable future. That’...
On October 31st, Astrocast went through a very important review performed by the experts of the European Space Agency (ESA). The main goal of this review, called the “Factory Acceptance Review”, was to execute a fully-secured end-to-end communication test. It was performed using the company’s revolutionary L-band chipset. Equipped with a miniaturized patch antenna, this chipset is capable of connecting to Astrocast’s nanosatellite network from anywhere on the planet with an industry-leading low-power consumption.

AN OPTIMIZED DATA PROTOCOL
An optimized data protocol developed in collaboration with Airbus allows short messages to be transmitted very efficiently through Astrocast’s network. Even-though the system has been working for about a year, in-depth analysis and review of the system’s performance was still required as part of Astrocast’s collaboration with ESA. This step was passed with flying colors and allows Astrocast to bring even more credibility to its future commercial service that is poised to outperform all other competing services in the satellite IoT market.
