Astroband Antennas

• A bare patch antenna with a size of ~ 36 x 36 x 7 mm3
• An outdoor variant will also be available with an SMA connector

Development Kit

• With the Astronode S at its core, this kit contains everything you need to easily connect your device to our satellite network
• A separate Wi-Fi development board simulates the satellite link to provide a low latency development environment
• An antenna is also provided

Astrocast network service offering

Astrocast designs, builds and operates its own constellation of nanosatellites. This powers its global bi-directional L-Band network for narrowband IoT applications that require a few kB of connectivity a day or less.

Satellite service

  • L-Band network compatible with small form factor antennas just 36 x 36 x 7 mm3 in size
  • Low-cost direct-to-orbit communication
  • Global coverage including maritime and polar regions

Latency and service – 2020

  • Once to twice a day bidirectional messaging service (bi-directionality for fixed assets only)
  • Continuously improved network with the latency continuing to fall between 2020 and 2023.

Latency and service –  2023 (full constellation)

  • Average end-to-end latency of approximately 5-7 minutes
  • Maximum end to end latency of 15 minutes
  • Near real-time latency in polar and equatorial locations due to our polar and equatorial orbits
  • Bi-directionality for mobile and fixed assets

Messages

  • Uplink message sizes up to 160 Bytes
  • Downlink message sizes are either 8 or 40 Bytes
  • Ability to send multiple messages per day

Security

  • Full end to end 256 bit AES encryption
  • Data authentication

Data and development tools

  • REST API
  • Customizable web portal

We are currently doing pilot programs with our pre-commercial service and have 2 satellites already operational in orbit. Our full commercial development kit will be released in 2020.
